Clare Grotefeld is a highly creative, independent, Brighton-based design and fabrication specialist.
Technically adept in many of the creative arts; Clare holds a BA & MA in gold-smithing, silver-smithing, metalwork and jewellery.
As you will see from this ‘site, Clare has worked on numerous prestigious projects within the film and music-video industries,
designing and creating special effects and props. She has also assisted with many stage and set designs, for both theatre and
opera productions, and has produced special displays and ‘one-off’ items for the retail-marketing and exhibition sectors.
Clare has also produced some stunning designs of her own, creating beautiful jewellery pieces that can be worn everyday,
as well as some rather more exotic pieces for special occasions.
Her previous appointments, among others, include: Assistant armourer at the Royal Opera House - Special FX technician and
prop maker at Pinewood Studios - Associate lecturer at Camberwell College of Arts.
Some of Clare’s previous commissions include: Jewellery design and ‘smithing for Madam Tussaud’s - Armoury repairs for the
Shakespeare’s Globe - Cake fabrication/fx for the British Food Association.
